Physical Description:

• Flowers:
  The Black Bat Flower is one of the most exotic and mysterious-looking blooms in the plant world. Its flower resembles a bat in flight, with dark purple to black bracts (modified leaves) that form bat-like “wings.” Beneath these are clusters of small, nodding, true flowers.
  One of its most striking features is the presence of long, thread-like filaments or “whiskers” that can extend up to 28 inches (70 cm).

• Leaves:
  The plant produces large, glossy, lance-shaped leaves that grow in a basal rosette. The leaves are typically dark green and can reach 12–24 inches (30–60 cm) in length.

  Grows to about 2 to 3 feet (60 to 90 cm) tall and wide.
